Each issue is devoted to a key topic. In addition to articles on the respective main topic of the magazine, special attention is paid to the community. In the context of calls for proposals (“Community Calls”), the HFD community can make its own contributions. In various formats, authors from the higher education sector also share their experiences and insights on digitization in teaching and learning.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space]

Issue #06 (October 2025): Generative KI als Gamechanger?!<\/a><\/h1>\nThe issue explores how universities can address the challenges of generative AI from various perspectives in more than 100 pages: How can they actively shape this change? What changes is generative AI already bringing to curricula, exam formats, and teaching methods? And how can students be prepared for a workplace shaped by AI? This issue shows how universities can deal with contradictions productively, how curricula and exams can be further developed, and which international approaches provide guidance. Issue #05 (October 2024): Kooperative Curriculumentwicklung<\/strong><\/a><\/h1>\n \n\nThe issue offers readers a variety of perspectives on the topic of \u201ccooperative curriculum development\u201d. Why is there a need and urgency to adjust curricula? What is the role of university management, and how can it support departments in curriculum processes? What forms of cooperation exist\u2014within universities, but also across universities and internationally? And what might a curriculum of the future look like? Issue #04 (Oktober 2023): Zukunftsorientierte Lernr\u00e4ume<\/strong><\/a><\/h1>\nThe issue was published in September 2023 and is aimed at learning space novices as well as learning space experts. It is intended to provide readers with ideas on how to approach processes related to the design of learning spaces. In doing so, we incorporate the latest findings from learning space research, take up participation methods, show good practices from abroad and integrate practical tips on how to set up a learning space process from the very beginning. In this context, we understand “learning spaces” to mean the entire place of higher education: the campus outdoor spaces are also included in the design. In addition to the student perspective, the HFD community also has its say and was able to submit their favorite learning spaces. Issue #03 (Oktober 2022): Partizipation<\/a><\/strong><\/h1>\nThe main topic is how to make participation processes at universities work well. We got authors from all status groups to share their thoughts, from (former) university leaders to teachers to students. In their articles, the authors show specific examples of how to get different groups involved in strategic processes. This magazine also takes a look at the topic of participation in digitization processes from the perspective of research, an international example, and good practices from our community. What do the authors agree on? Issue #02 (March 2022): Blended University<\/a><\/strong><\/h1>\n \n\nThe second issue of the magazine focuses on the university of the future. Will the campus continue to be the heart of university activities? How will teaching and learning change in the future? What content should be taught to best prepare students for the working world? We address these questions and show what the university of the future could look like and why, in our view, it is directly linked to the concept of the \u201cblended university.\u201d Using various case studies, we present examples of universities that are already implementing sustainable and pioneering concepts. Issue #01 (Oktober 2021): (Digital) Leadership<\/strong><\/a><\/h1>\n \n\nThe strategic orientation of universities and their departments is directly linked to the leadership philosophy of their managers. There are various approaches worth considering, with a particular focus on digital leadership. Over the past two years, the coronavirus pandemic has brought issues of digitalization and rapid crisis management to the forefront of educational institutions’ agendas with enormous force \u2013 in many cases accelerating the digital transformation at universities. But what does it mean to lead a university that is undergoing such a process? Are there success factors for good digital leadership?
